Who is Kasey?

Hi! I'm a teacher's wife and a mommy to a little girl and a bun in the oven. I'm a granddaughter, daughter, sister, school treasurer, southern cook, and DIY crafter, just to name a few. ;)

Being a school treasurer and married to a teacher (with two kids [and two fur babies] no less!), we live on a very tight budget. But that doesn't mean that we can't love our home! We have lived there for five years. We've thought about moving several times to bigger and better homes or neighborhoods, to houses that have better closet space or better master bathrooms, but the truth is, there are a lot of things about our home that we love and we wouldn't be able to find anywhere else in Charlotte. At least not in our price range.

For instance, we live on 1/3 acre. May not be much to you, but in this area, that costs a pretty penny, or has a big house so it really seems like 1/10th of an acre. We have a fenced in yard with about 1/3 of our backyard covered in shade/privacy trees. These days, if a construction company leaves one tree in the yard, consider yourself lucky. We live very conveniently to all the interstates in Charlotte (thanks, 485!) and to lots of restaurants and shopping.

So, after lots of torturing myself with how many things I was unhappy with, and going to look at a few houses and then torturing myself with the idea of making the wrong decision, I decided we should just stay. I haven't read the book, but the idea behind Love the Home you Have by Melissa Michaels has really resonated with me and now I'm onto that journey!

Join me as we constantly tweak our home to make the best use of its space and turn all the little details into things we love.
